Academics@QVS

The first step from a cozy home environment to a well-developed learning center. What we teach  is related to the early development of the children and introducing them to structured learning through a systematic and innovative way.

Hands on learning is the process of learning of actually doing and experiencing something rather than just being told about it. It is particularly important for young children as this is how they are programmed to learn. Children can develop skills much faster when they are associated with fun activities.

Pre School

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken adults”. – Frederick Douglas perhaps understood the values and relevance of early childhood education. Researchers shows that emotional, social, cognitive and physical development of young children has a great effect on their overall development as an adult.

The   five specific areas of learning:

  • Language development- English and Hindi. Literacy involves encouraging children to link sounds and letters along with letter activities and to begin with reading and writing. In Pre school we only emphasize on Hindi reading and recognition.
  • Mathematics involves Pre number concepts, recognition of numbers and counting, shapes, count and write, between numbers and after numbers.
  • General Awareness means knowledge about the present happenings. It also focusses on routine happenings for the news around the world. In Preschool, general awareness includes colours, fruits, vegetables, plants and animals, helpers, transport, festivals, national symbols etc.
  • Art and craft include colouring, tearing and pasting, paper folding, printing and letter activities.
  • HPE- We help in the physical development of the young children in developing their co-ordination, control and movement through various activities and physical play.

Pre Primary

In QVS we provide children various opportunities to experience languages. They learn the languages through speaking, reciting, summarizing and enacting. The five specific areas of learning:

  • Language development- The curriculum for PRE-PRIMARY teaching imparts two languages- English and Hindi. Literacy involves encouraging children to link sounds of letters, blending of letters (2,3,4 letters) and formation of sentences.
  • Mathematics involves providing children with opportunities to develop and improve their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction, shapes, number names, before and after numbers, bigger and smaller numbers etc.
  • General Awareness means knowledge about the present happenings.  Children are guided to make sense of their physical world and their community to observe, explore and find out people, places etc.
  • Art and Design involves enabling children to explore and play with different materials.  They are encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in art, music, dance and role play.
  • HPE- We help in the physical development of the young children in developing their co-ordination, control and movement through various activities and physical play.

Class I-II

The main objective of teaching is not to give explanations, but to knock at the doors of the mind.”

– Rabindranath Tagore

Education is an important part of human life. An educated society is an enlightened and empowered one. Our focus is on the overall development of the child. Keeping this in mind we aim to develop a student holistically, emotionally and spiritually.

The curriculum is enriched by integrating Concepts, cultural and social activities, art and craft and hobbies.

For classes I & II the school follows CBSE prescribed syllabus that enables the child to develop a strong hold on fundamental concepts and also helps in developing critical thinking skills.
